OMG They've remade Catch-22.

And it looks really good. The book and movie changed my life when I was a teen. It was everything I wanted to be able to write-smart Alec, acerbic, crazy, angry af and wickedly funny. It had all those NYC elite writers and actors I loved.

It’s on HULU on May 17th. I have to watch the original now. But George Clooney! ❤️

Loved the book. Movie was...disappointing. But not surprising. Difficult plot to follow cinematically, I guess. That is if you think there actually was a plot.

I know what you mean but I liked it. It was my first introduction to a circular plot, something Joyce did in Finnegan’s Wake and of course Pulp Fiction did wonderfully.

It’s very much what I was like when I was 15, when it came out. I lived in the small town Gulf Coast South and wanted nothing more than to be a writer in NYC.

I was very disappointed and confused by the movie, but the movie also made me question my original opinion of the book. Now I'm thinking I should revisit the book and maybe I'll love it again. In my early 20's I thought Joseph Heller was a genius but his later books were never as great as Catch-22.

and angry af about Vietnam probably influenced me a lot but I still love it. M*A*S*H* too.
