I just saw a new advertisement for one of the jobs for which I interviewed last week. This after stressing out over it for over a week. It may or may not be a second position with the same title, as the new ad was for a temporary position. The one for which I interviewed was not. But, I don't have a good feeling about it. It was a state job, so who knows what the hell is going on.

It's a different department in the same place I've worked for 25 years. Just makes me feel worse knowing that.

Maybe whoever makes the final decision, already had a candidate in mind and the interviews were just a formality. Please don't let this discourage you, I know of several times the job wanted wasn't the right one, but the circumstances led to a better job.

I didn't get the job. They offered it to someone in the company with more experience in the field. While I understand it from a business standpoint, I'm still pretty bummed about it.

That said, there is a claim that they still want me to pick up some hours to 'get my feet wet'. I will believe it when it actually happens, though.

On the bright side, if they give you the get your feet wet thing, you know that they think well of you.
