First of all: in this economy, a business owner would say that?
Second: is this a possible ADA violation? Maybe they CAN do the job with reasonable long-haired-freaky-person accommodations.

And I went in to ask him why.."
Okay, now you're just being a dick.

(12,132 posts)I went in and nailed the interview until I said I would not cut my hair. I was over-qualified for the position they were trying to fill but I didn't care, I wanted to be in an IT department and was willing to start low and work up.
The interviewer smiled and shook my hand and said they'd let me know.
3 months later I had moved on, figuring I didn't get the job. I was doing temp work while still seeking IT work and out of the blue, the interviewer from before called me and asked if I was still looking. Of course I jumped at it and went to work for them.
I found out later they had gone through 2 other people that couldn't master the simple task for which I was being hired so he caved and called the long-haired guy. Been here ever since and I hope to retire from here. My hair is much thinner now but still long. My company photo on my ID badge is about 18.5 years old so I can remember how full my hair used to be.
Long-thinning-haired freaky people doing just fine here.
