they aren't looking at the baby, they are circling, surrounding it, their tusks are pointed outward. i think the photographers were making them nervous. found many comments on the video saying the same thing.

(and here's me: glass half empty. i blame trump)

Great video... but I would NOT feel safe being that close. If you sneezed wrong, one of them might feel startled and threatened (especially since they're all in a state of heightened emotion and awareness of the vulnerable baby.) Hard to predict what they may do.

a birthing corral with grass and ground for the mother's and babies? Dude sez they've had 3 births pretty much at the same time. Elephants *need* to get off the concrete - they need to walk on grass.
