The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI finally heard from Facebook about my "alerted-on" post
And they upheld the alert. Then they made the BIG mistake of inviting me to provide some feedback.
I pointed out that when I had alerted on a threat, they decided that threat did NOT violate their "Community Standards" and they suggested I just block the individual who posted it. Then I added, just so they'd know, Facebook's enthusiastic enabling of Russia's strategy to steal the 2016 election did violate my "Community Standards".
I'm not sure what earns someone a 'time out'. Guess I'll find out (or not).

(18,552 posts)Next to her was Michael Jackson, same out fit and the 3rd pic was the prof from Raiders/Ark and it had swastika flags. (see image below, bottom right) THAT got me booted off. "Hate speech." It's all automated. They just search for certain phrases or images. Since I had gotten kicked off 2 times prior for using the term 'white trash' I was off for 30 days.

(26,177 posts)I saw a number of posts, similar to that one. And I know I'm not the only person who posted the one I got dinged on.
Mine was a picture of a truck with anti trump* bumper stickers. Absolutely nothing obscene. The wording on the original notice made it sound like some individual had sent the alert. I have greatly tightened up my "friends" list, with the usual suspects now blocked from seeing my posts. I've figured, with one of them, it was only a matter of time before she put a FB hit, out on me.
My page is still up and active so I guess only time will tell.

(26,177 posts)The caption, in my post, was something like 'No, I haven't traded in my Saturn for a truck, but......' I got a lot of 'LOL' emoticon responses.
Apparently, this sentiment is more offensive to 'Community Standards' than someone posting threats towards me. I don't see a single thing, stated on this truck, that can be proven to be false.

(26,177 posts)I was pretty blunt, in my feedback, about how I felt. I don't know the process for how they decide if they will put someone in 'time out' but if it's anything like their initial review process, I figure I'll know, in a week or so.
