DU Album of the Day: Lauryn Hill: "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill"
I actually remember Lauryn Hill way before she put out this amazing album. She had a minor role as Kira on "As the World Turns" - she was good friends with one of the lead teenage characters on the soap. She didn't have alot of air time but the local kids hangout I do remember they had her sing a song there and thought she had such an amazing voice.
After releasing an album with The Fugees, she put out this solo album, in fact it's her only solo album and it was a HUGE album. I think she racked up about a half dozen Grammy's from this album and I swore she would have a major career but she just quietly fade away and I think she had like 5-6 kids with one of the Bob Marley's sons.
Anyhow, today is Lauryn Hill's birthday so I thought I would make her album the DUAOTD.
