Cleaned out my Cookies. Good to do, taking care selectively

First, somebody gigged me for passing on the tip that for sites that have a limit on free reading deleting the Cookie reinstates the limit anew. Yes, it's fair to pay for a commodity. I forget what my defense was.

Next, it's a humongous list of Cookies, most of which have indecipherable labels. If you're not sure whether it might be something useful, leave it alone.

* The listing is in alphabetical order, and the "A" part is extra long, think "ADVERTISING". If it's got "ad" in there, it's some form of "advertisement" and fine to Delete.

* There are sites (think, DU) and your credit union and such that you want to keep so that you don't have to login, so keep those.

* There are definitely unfriendly sites, like FoxNews, that have no business tracking us, so DELETE.

* Saying again, the NYT and WaPo and VanityFair are limited-reading quota so make your choice.

* That said, there are friendly sites that, as far as I'm concerned, don't need to be tracking me, no matter how neutral or friendly, so I Delete those.

* Sites have multiple Cookies - like, first under "N" for NYT and then under "W" for www.NYT

*************I'm low tech, so SUPERCEDE me with your knowledge, I guess also including criticism.

CTRL-SHIFT-N in Chrome.
