This is what persistence looks like...
In the coming days, officials would find out that one person had secured not only the $27,036,142 jackpot, but 6 second prizes, 132 third prizes, and 135 minor prizes collectively worth another $900k.
What unfolded next was the strangest, most improbable lottery tale in history one involving thousands of international investors, dozens of complex computer systems, and a mathematical savant whod masterminded the entire operation from the other side of the world.
This is the story of the man who gamed the lottery by buying every possible combination.

(54,379 posts)He has now moved on, and successfully ran for State Auditor of Iowa last year (a bigger deal in a farm state like Iowa than in some other states). He has even been mentioned as a possible challenger for Joni Ernst's U.S. Senate seat, up for re-election next year. Last year, that was looking like too big a step up, but since Ernst has been a robotic Trumpanzee Senator, that might look different six months from now.

(36,806 posts)My sister had $50 from her co-workers for a lottery so I bought 52 tickets (2 for myself).
6 numbers x 52 = 312 numbers.
Out of 312, we hit 8 and nowhere near each other.
