9. What bothers me is that as a kid I hung around with my grandmother's friends

A whole group of old ladies (in their 60s, 70s, and 80s) who were either professors or wives of professors and who were much more interesting than kids my age. During college I hung out with people my age, but once I graduated I gravitated back to hanging out with older ladies - this time ones that did fine needlework.

Now *I* am one of those older ladies. It's a major shock to make that realization. Getting old sucks in just about every way.

10. As the grandkids become potty trained, I'm heading in the opposite direction

Have been told by my doctor at the VA that I'll get free diapers when the situation becomes bad enough. Wife told me she'll have me put down the day I stop being house trained.
