Trout fishing Talking with my wife on our retirement plans as union truck driver

I am rambling four cups coffee, At 53 and my wife is 50 she commented yesterday. On my search history online trout fishing in Bulgaria Poland Siberia and Mongolia. I said yes i would like to take maybe three months in maybe ten to twelve years after our sons are done with university or perhaps union trades. Their both fifteen and both of our sons has great interest in electrical as they signed up for vo tech.

Our son in law is union electrician apprentice and my one brother is union steam fitter plumber. Like our daughters we tell our sons university is only option. The union trades offer a five year apprenticeship school every other Friday paid by union. But union trades and education is decent life as well , Don’t be ass and trash teamster like your dad if you’re gonna do it get a trade. Like dad union trades have defined pension plan and a pension annuity and you make decent cash when you work.

Pardon me I ramble So I told my wife years ago as kid in ass and trash mechanized infantry battalion in west Germany. I read this article about this West German angler and how he trout fished in Siberia near the Mongolian border. We’re lucky as we live close to some of these most awesome trout streams in North America central Pennsylvania a half hour drive. Or a two hour drive if I head home to Appalachia where I grew up.

I was thinking I’d love to do that but never happen because then it was the iron curtain and in my head it always would be the east block. And what I remember to this day about the article this angler was hunting for a fish called taimen it’s a huge trout . And they can grow up to I think four feet, so after thirty one years maybe ten more in union.

I would like to take a small amount of my annuity part of pension and go and fish for trout in Eastern Europe and Far East. My wife looked at me and said ok she replied I was thinking of us spending the summer with grandkids and us in the fall at jersey shore in the beach house when we retired.
I said I see that in us having coffee and sticky buns on a cool fall morning then walking on the board walk. My dear wife informed me she is not interested in going into Siberia and floating down a river days away from civilization.

Having a ball with ADD jobs now, antiques, flipping cars, picking up cars from auctions all over the Mid-West and what ever comes up today. Jogging and fishing are a big part of my life.

Have a friend that went on a once in a life time fishing trip to Canada. Dropped off on a river and 10 days of canoeing to the mouth of Hudson Bay thru the Polar Bear National forest. He caught over 600 Brookies. Do it while you are still young enough to handle the physical part.

I love talking to the anti-union folks and telling them about the great life my union job gave me. 30 and out for everyone.

Got a great education with no debt and my union contract got the company to pay 100% of my college classes.
