I feel absolutely wonderful and I have to share this story

A mama cat had kittens on my front porch and they all disappeared, one by one, except one.

This particular one (now about two months old) had a nasty habit of running into the street.

I've had at least four people ring my doorbell to alert me that she was in the street again and running up to people's cars.

She's a friendly, adorable little thing and I was full of angst and fear for her.

I got my cat's pet carrier and placed her in it. i'd clean it in the morning before going to work and in the evening when I got home. I lined it with puppy training pads because i didn't have room to put a litter box in it. MY plan was to try to take her to the Humane Society or find a no kill shelter that would take her.

This went on for about a week and it rained like crazy yesterday. I took advantage of the weather to hose down and scrub the pet carrier.

I thought she would be safe for now as the porch gave her shelter from the rain. I fixed her a box to sleep in and lined it with some throw rugs.

LOL -- What was I thinking????

Anyway, about five minutes ago another neighbor's daughter knocked on the door. Her mom was in her car right in front of the house and wanted to know if they could have the kitten as it seemed so attached to her daughter. The little spit fire actually ran up to the woman's car and started yelling for her daughter to pick her up.

I'm like PLEASE DO and HALLELUJAH!!!!!

Things really have a way of working out. The kitten is now safe and in a forever home, and I can now sleep at night and not worry about her.

I mistakenly took my 2 kids to a shelter years ago to get one kitten.
My son walked by this cage and this little kitten literally threw himself at my son, yowling the whole time. We have always had a black cat and that is why we were at the shelter. This little guy was a beautiful silver tabby.
So when we went back to pick up that one kitten, the tabby did the same thing again. We could not leave him. He knew we were the right family for him
So, we went home with 2 kittens.
He was one of the best cats we ever had.

My 7 year old Hally and Teddy are just so precious together. They play, sleep, groom together. Where one goes the other one soon follows. Of course, I am prejudiced because I have had them since they were about a week old.

Many people in my area are feeding and "taking care of" feral cats without neutering them. I have had to gently explain why they need to either trap the kitties or (if there are many cats) get help putting a TNR group together.

I'm used to "just checking" so that I can send the appropriate articles and web sites.

but my inside cat has no sense of humor for such things

i started with four indoor cats and am now down to one -- and she thinks she's practically royalty.

Seriously.

We've got five cats ranging in age from two that are about 3.5 mos old to an 18 year old tuxedo.

But those kittens! One, a Siamese, comes up and sits on the back of my home office chair while I'm working. He's just cuter than a button. And his sister is a little Tortoise shell face/tabby body. Now, she likes my wife, and when she's in bed that little sweetheart will snuggle right next to her.

I never have picked one and I've had a cat most of the time for 40 years. If I did pick a kitten, I'd go for a male yellow tabby or Siamese.
