...in my job, or absolution of parental guilt.

When I know a parent has a decent sense of humor, and the child has something that just needs supportive care while "waiting it out," I tell parents to use my favorite prescription - "benign neglect." It's free, has no side effects, and usually works if you use it long enough.

If I were a paranoid sort, I might read too much into that.


And (I hope this doesn't seem too forward of me) I've yet to receive any of that "feel better" stuff. I suspect that this might account for me not feeling better.
