You show me a vegan half marathoner and I'll show you someone you don't want to get cornered by at a party.

(2,654 posts)Boyfriend got me into it. Essentially it's high intensity interval training with a twist. Workouts are different everyday and may include weightlifting, cardio, gymnastics and so on. I love it.
What I like about it - as compared to other types of gyms/training - is that no one cares what you look like. Some of the people you'd think would be in 'bad' shape are excellent, have excellent fitness and stamina and can lift a lot.
As a woman, I have gotten far more toned than I ever thought possible and weight loss has followed, although not in the traditional sense as muscle weighs more than fat. But my butt is awesome (thanks to squats and burpees - the bane of my existence) and my arms are muscular.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
