I shall set the scene for you.

I am an obsessive Meta-phile (there probably needs to be a support group for Meta-addicts) and a keen juror. I was recently called upon to serve on a post that was clearly extremely aggressive and, frankly, had to be hid.

Never having seen such levels of aggression before, my curiosity led me to consider the context as Mr Angry was off the scale. I read the thread. What do you suppose I found? The post to which Mr Angry was responding was GROTESQUELY offensive to a long-standing group of DUers that have contributed not just to DU but their country as a whole at the highest possible level of commitment.

I sighed.

I wrote a sad comment along with my hide along the lines of "I have to do this but I really wish I didn't have to", having discovered that Mr Angry was in fact Mr Righteously-Furious-and-Severely-Goaded and set about alerting on Mr Grotesque Attitude Problem without delay.

I then received two DUmails in rapid succession. Mr Righteously-Furious-and-Severely-Goaded's post was hidden and Mr Grotesque Attitude Problem's post remained!!!

I posted the auto-response to my alert - giving a "tsk"ing to juror #3 whose reasoning for leaving the hideousness intact defied all logic and civility. I then deleted it, realising that it was clear from the content that I was the alerter, and quite sure that anything I posted further on the subject would likely resemble the results of pouring kerosene on a catherine wheel.

I now feel like a total heel. Hence my ire and despondence.

I had to let off steam so I came to the Lounge where people are pleasant and understanding.

I may be here for some time.
