TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A driver ended up in a prickly predicament - but largely unhurt - after a collision with a cactus on Wednesday morning, July 10.
Kai Scott,39, was arrested with a DUI charge and one count of criminal damage as the result of the cactus crash, according to Pima County Sheriffs Department.
According to information from the Northwest Fire District, nobody was hurt, even though the car came to rest with a large saguaro sticking out of the windshield, just missing the driver.

You're correct. They survive to around 200 years. I was trying for humor.

I don't do real well looking at shelter sites or going to them (the tough old broad disappears in certain situations and I can't take them all home) but it is one of those things, once you save a life you have are responsible forever...sigh

(51,469 posts)8. Probably an 800 year old cactus. They are protected in Arizona or
they were when I lived in Tucson.

I doubt any saguaro is older than 200 years old.

The PCSD is investigating the wreck, which happened near North First Avenue and East Agave Drive at 9:30 a.m.
Nobody expects a saguaro to be on Agave Drive! I blame the city planners who misnamed the streets.
