It's great to see this horse finally getting a good life, but it just breaks my heart that any animal could be so neglected in the first place.

My blacksmith has shown me pics of hooves that bad. It's hard to believe people can be that stupid and uncaring. That's probably 3 -5 years of hoof growth. As an example, my horses get trimmed every 5-6 weeks. Maybe stretch it to 8 weeks in the winter when hoof growth really slows down.

And this is a pretty little pony, especially when he gets weight back on. I'd say, the only reason he was like this, and kept unseen in a barn, was that, they knew they couldn't sell him in that shape, and they knew if anyone saw him they would be charged with animal cruelty.
