So I watched "Auto Focus" again the other night.

I remember a Duer commenting about it a few weeks ago---great film. Greg Kinnear was awesome playing Bob Crane. The cops bungled the case--Crane's blood was found in Carpenter's car along with some brain tissue, but when they finally charged him with murder years later much of the evidence was lost. He was aquitted but died of a heart attack 4 years after the trial. I think he was guilty.

Opinions?

The movie definitely leaves you with the impression that Carpenter killed Crane. I'm inclined to believe he did it, but after watching the movie I did a lot of online research and found info that gave me at least a slim shadow of doubt. Apparently, there were a few ex-lovers and boyfriends/husbands of women Crane had sex with who were angry enough to threaten him.

That's just a very slim shadow of doubt, though. It makes more sense to think that Carpenter did it.
