When opening a new bottle of vitamins, are you supposed to keep the cotton or chuck it?

15. I always do that. It's about 2 cotton ball's worth usually.

I thought I was the only one cheap enough to do that --- but I guess now I can say I am being "environmental."

16. I prefer to take a few out and place in a small medicine bottle for daily use (or transport)...

and keep the big container closed tight. Vitamins and other supplements seem to last longer that way. Some I've had seem to deteriorate in a few months if I open the big bottle each day, especially ones that don't have that slick coating.

I always save the cotton for other use and it should be sterile.........

I use it to wipe the alcohol when I clean my finger for Diabetic testing
