3. #5 is a WWII antiaircraft gun.

The uniform looks like Army but could be Navy.

It looks like he is sitting on an M1 single barrel 40mm Bofors anti aircraft gun.

Lieutenant Ford served initially as the ship’s athletic director, as well as a gunnery division officer, supervising a 40mm anti-aircraft gun on the carrier’s fantail.
