When I first heard about the show, I was appalled.

Sherlock Holmes in NEW YORK?

A FEMALE Watson?

Impossible! Outrageous! Idiotic!

But, I watched anyway, because I love Sherlock Holmes, and, I wanted to see just how terrible it would be.

Well, the show proved me wrong, and very quickly. I wasn't completely converted by the end of the first episode, but I was intrigued enough to watch the second one, and then the third one......and I never missed a single episode.

I went head over heels for BBC's "Sherlock" and was completely obsessed with it during its first season. The second season was really not very good, but good enough that my heart broke at the end. The third season? Left me cold. I never finished it or watched more after that.

"Elementary" though, for me, just grew from strength to strength. Miller & Liu's evolving relationship was compelling to watch. This was a Sherlock Holmes that became MORE interesting over time. Sure, not all the episodes were top notch, but overall, I really loved it.

It seems like all my favorite shows are ending. But this one really hurts.
It had a decent finale, though. The only thing missing was Clyde.

that nade it difficult to hear what they were saying.

I laughed at a quote I had read online that referred to Elementary as the show that was scoffed at by fans of Sherlock, unless they had actually watched it.

Agreed, overall a good final season, but I would have liked to have seen Moriarty make another in person appearance though.

4. No Clyde? How can that be? (haven't seen the 7th season yet)

I love the way Sherlock's recovery is handled, with him becoming better at human interaction over the years. (Choosing a car thief as his sponsor? Gold!) My favorite scene is him trying to express compassion when the Captain's marriage breaks up.
SHERLOCK: "...and if you need to talk to someone, Watson's available."

I also liked him introducing Watson as his valet.

5. Because of travel, still have four episodes remaining

Like the rest of you, I was highly skeptical at first, but they won me over. While far from perfect, they have been an intelligent treatment of the tradition. BTW the works of A.C.D had a fair number of clunkers, too.

I have also enjoyed many episodes of the Sherlock series, though not the last few. But I am hooked on decent mysteries whatever the sources. I wish someone would do a non-German version of the Brunetti series by Donna Leon, the ones set in Venice. Germans are lousy trying to act like Italians!

6. One of the better shows on television. Thank goodness for

Netflix and Amazon Prime.

7. Detective Marcus Bell was an excellent member of the cast.

Brave, tough, blisteringly smart, he was an excellent part of Sherlock and Joan's investigative team.

It should be remembered that in the Doyle stories, Lestrade was a competent police officer. It was only in the movies that he became an incompetent bumbler.

8. Agreed! I loved his character, and I was really distressed over the US Marshall storyline.

I was afraid he'd be leaving the cast!

But, it all worked out......

Tea one, was truly a Machine arrainged meeting, she saw that Sherlock was pulling on threads and drawing conclusions(stole that from Morarity). Second tea, was post Samaritan demise, after Reese was well enough to walk, again. Finch gave Sherlock a few bread crumbs before he and Reese flew to Italy. Also Watson needed to meet Shaw and Bear 💓🍵💓

20. Er, well, so am I. I have dabbled, I admit, but going back and reading them just makes me cringe.

I also never wrote for the POI fandom. I only wrote for "Sherlock" (Back when I was obsessed) and then, believe it or not, "Hogan's Heroes."

I've had this long-running theory about subtexts in Hogan's Heroes that I wanted explored. Things that were hinted at in the series, but never made explicit. When I discovered fan fiction, I decided to make those things happen!!
But, I abandoned the project when REAL LIFE demanded attention and I never went back to it.
