My party's song list, continued...

See my Aretha thread here https://www.democraticunderground.com/10181254320#post5

But moving on:

I would like to include a song by the Village People and I chose "YMCA." I consider it an important song for the gay community politically and I also love it. It was in one of my dance routines at Jazzercise. To me it characterized struggle but also acceptance and wonderful optics.

I got some questioning by my music guru and told him I respected the song as well as danced/loved it. That's why it is on the list.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
