(23,694 posts)I hated all traditional Halloween candy as a kid
In my tiny village, one of the older ladies made bodacious popcorn balls. Everyone went to her house first before she ran out. They were so good. Nobody wanted to be late to her house
Another old lady made homemade candy and we always got 2 little bags. One was for us and the other was for our dads. My dad's first question when we got home was if we went to Miss Jessie's and did we get 2 bags. It turned out the Dad bag contained bourbon balls, and he knew this from his own Halloweens!

(2,343 posts)Guess they grew up on shitty candy! Lol Skittles hadnt been invented.
A close second in bad candy was circus peanuts! Those peanut-shaped, dried out marshmallow things! UGH!

(2,343 posts)I love the strawberry bon-bons!
The other two make me think of what Christmas candy in 'Little House on the Prairie' would have been.
You just don't know what's good!. I simply LOVE circus peanuts and orange slices both.
Full Disclosure: I'm an old person. The kid in me still loves those old folks' candies.
