I hated all traditional Halloween candy as a kid

In my tiny village, one of the older ladies made bodacious popcorn balls. Everyone went to her house first before she ran out. They were so good. Nobody wanted to be late to her house

Another old lady made homemade candy and we always got 2 little bags. One was for us and the other was for our dads. My dad's first question when we got home was if we went to Miss Jessie's and did we get 2 bags. It turned out the Dad bag contained bourbon balls, and he knew this from his own Halloweens!
