25. I get flu shots for two reasons.

Number One is that my reactive lungs have landed me in the hospital when I've caught the flu. My damned lungs have landed me in the hospital for common colds.

Number Two, if I hadn't had a flu shot and I got the flu my wife would kill me this time, even if the flu didn't.

She's seen me as a skeleton man in a hospital bed because of the flu.

Yes, I wanted to die.

It's not an experience I wish to repeat.

and I've never been so sick, before or since. I don't care if the vaccine isn't 100% effective; I'll take all the protection I can get because if I get a case of flu like that again, I'm probably dead.
