Just had a patient claiming a 'needle phobia' who had a tattoo you could see from orbit.

Had to defer lab testing for his condition, and of course, his immunizations. Who knew phobias could be selective?

...and doctors made house calls.

Some asshole doctor literally sat on me on our living room couch to give me some kind of a shot. I could not breath. I can remember the air hunger. Now...anytime I even hear about an injection, a needle, or (gawd forbid) see one, I feel like I am being smothered. Even typing this is making me start to feel that way.

UGH.

was the cause of the phobia?

I can't handle needles or the dentist but I go to the dentist because the thought of loosing my teeth overwhelms my fear of the dentist. My mom wouldn't pay for local anesthesia so my teeth got drilled without it. She believed that children couldn't feel pain, really.
