(71,876 posts)I hate it when a day in clinic makes me re-think my life's choices. It's the best decision I've ever made. But it isn't easy...
Thank you for joining me...

(100,980 posts)I fell asleep for a while. I can only stay horizontal for five or so hours at a time so I'm up now.
I am thankful for the vast majority of healthcare workers, especially those who work in clinics. I have been literally saved by nurses more than once and I recognize how much of yourselves goes into the work that you do. So I'll say thank you for all who are in your care!
I hope the buzz helps you get through the hard parts when you are on your own.

I got a culture of the abraded skin, cleaned and dressed the site, prescribed some empiric antibiotics; then we got him into the shower and got him some clean clothes. Then I sent him to the hospital for a head CT.
It was a bit of a day...

Since achieving oblivion would mean I couldn't talk to my DU friends, I won't be seeking oblivion. But relaxation and a swimming head work well enough...

(71,876 posts)It was a team effort, though. My MA Supervisor was the one who thought to get him some clean dry clothes. We have a food pantry and donated-clothing closet downstairs from the clinic. He's the one who makes sure it's always fully-stocked.

That's got to boost the old adrenaline levels (both crews).

During the Battle of St. Vith, Belgium, on 18 December 1944, one of the most extraordinary tank actions of the war took place between a little American M8 armoured car and an enormous German King Tiger tank. Find out the full thrilling story here.
