But an Alpaca. Or a small Llama.

We used to put ours in the cars all the time. They ride really well. Love to look out the windows.

And because we took some of our 'pacas around town with us, it always amazed us that people did NOT know what they were. You'd laugh it I told you some of the things we heard . . . .

We started out with SIX. Five of which were female, all pregnant at the time of purchase. It just kind of spiraled after that. The crias (babies) are so precious. It's amazing that they are up and walking in about an hour or so. Your heart just melts watching them gain momentum, struggling at first to stay up on all four feet, then within a few hours, they start running. It's awesome.

Which is true with almost every species !

Unfortunately, we had to sell off everything due to the economy of the early 2010s. It broke our hearts. But we found good homes for all of them, and had visitation rights. We later moved hours away, so now I have to travel to another ranch to see Alpacas. But it was a wonderful experience and I am glad that we had the opportunity to do it. Being a city kid, it was fun and a constant learning experience.
