Important topic: How I improve my digestion

Good digestion is SO important, it's easy to just ignore it, but you will be a much happier person for attending to this vital process.

One point to keep in mind, IMHO, is the chemistry involved. With proteins and starches, your body deals with breaking them down differently:

Your saliva works on the starch, so don't scarf it down too quickly. With proteins, that takes acids to tear it down, but your chewing will really help speed up the job, so chew it well

Now here's the conundrum: the ph of starch neutralizes acids, so meat 'n potatoes is like the worse combo we could have embraced. We didn't evolve eating this combo.

In the linked post, their point about avoiding liquid makes good sense. And of course not over eating heh.

Humans also didn’t evolve eating potatoes, avocados, tomatoes, peanuts, blueberries, corn, or any other New World food. So what? There is no magic primal diet of some kind, because hominids adapted to consume a wide variety of foods, simply because nothing in particular could be depended upon to always be available.

There is practically nothing Homo sapiens eats today which resembles things that Homo Sapiens would have eaten, say, 150,000 years ago, let alone on any significantly remote past in terms of evolution.

But one could just as correctly state that humans didn’t evolve to eat potatoes under any circumstances, since humans would not even have encountered potatoes until populating the New World some 15,000 years ago.

You will be surprised how well everything will "work." Now it seems too simple because bananas are cheap, plentiful, tasty, contains potassium (good for heart) easy to eat, (no need to cook) after peeling, are sanitary, sweet, etc. etc. They are really good for digestion and help the stomach to digest the food. Check it out..

Thanks Stuart.

I hope they'll be around for a long time, as I hear they've been battling disease issues.

just have it as a dip. Or raita on Indian food or cacik on Turkish food. I have always been kind of indifferent to sweet yogurts, but I love savory yogurt preparations. Other Middle Eastern cuisines have their variations of the dish as well. It's so delicious!
