I stay away from fried foods, particularly chicken which IMHO is dry and tasteless. However, I had a Popeyes yesterday just because of the hype - and it was delicious - perfectly fried on a tasty bun with a sweet - yet somewhat spicy sauce - with some pickles which my wife and I argued about as to whether they were sweet or garlic. The chicken itself was a very decent piece of breast meat and the fried coating was crunchy and perfect .
I highly recommend one try it

(4,268 posts)You may have to do the sweeping and mopping today as punishment. Dishes too.
There's tons of stuff online by doing a quick Google search. Infowars links should not be used on this website in my opinion, but I don't own it so it's just that....an opinion.

(4,400 posts)and I won't be checking it out; consider it a fair warning because most of your posts are thoughtful and appropriate.
Thanks for your thumbs up on the eats. Popeye's isn't close, and the absence of "craziness" on account of this sandwich, thank goodness, won't result in unruly lines of people/traffic. I'll just take your word on it -- that way I'll not have to chance wearing or using eye protection and give those folks a click.

In all honesty, I've never found popeyes' chicken to be that good, but granted I've only eaten there a handful of times,, probably always at "off hours" and likely did not get freshly cooked food.

Not fantastic but good.
Worth a five minute wait but not a thirty minute wait.

(22,280 posts)I live in a section of my city which is so overloaded with access to Fried chicken that I do not see how any of them stay in business. Within a 3 mile stretch: Gas station with Cajun Fried CHicken. Chicken Express. Local Fish and Chicken place. Long John SIlver's KFC. Chick Fil A. Kroger deli. Church's. Golden CHick. Chicken sandwiches and tenders only: McDonald's, Whataburger, Jack In the Box and a really good breakfast and lunch place. I think that is all of them.
I do not usually get fried chicken sandwiches; I'd rather have the tenders and a biscuit if I am at Popeye's or Chicken Express. Both places have outstanding biscuits!
