Public bathrooms problem resolved

No, not what you think. Whatever you may be thinking.

Most of us wash our hands after our business is done, some even lather for 20 seconds. But then we have to open the door to get out..

I was visiting a clinic and had to go in search of the restrooms. Followed the signs. A workman came in front of me and waved his arm in front of the automatic door sensor (they have them everyplace, for handicapped..) and the door opened. Easy solution, did the same on my way out.

1. After washing hands & drying them, just grab a paper towel & use it to open the bathroom door

on the way out.

2. And then what do you do with the paper towel?

Looking for a trash can, putting it in your pocket?

3. I put it in the first trash can I see after exiting the bathroom.

I just kind of roll it up in my hand until I come upon a trash can.

(It's better than opening the bathroom door with my hand)

4. Many cruise ships have signs in the washrooms advising passengers to open the door with a paper

towel as they exit. Waste baskets are located next to the doors.

5. Great. Now I have to buy a ticket for a cruise ship

so I can dispose of the paper towel I used at a Costco restroom.

A local big box store had a foot plate on the inside bottom of the ladies room door. You pulled the door open with your foot. Of course, this would not work for most visually or physically handicapped persons. I’d never seen one before. Anyway, the bathroom was remodeled and the footplate got discarded. Now I have to use the paper towel method.

I once encountered a ladies bathroom in a local bar/restaurant that was perfect! You used a pull handle to open the bathroom door. The toilets flushed automatically. The hand soap and water had sensors. There were automatic hand dryers and automatic towel dispensers with sensors. Finally, you could push the door open with your shoulder in order to exit! It was fantastic!

Seriously though, a bidet or another type of water spraying bathroom appliance would be nice for us ladies!, and it would reduce TP usage.

6. If the trash can is near the door,

I just stick my foot in the door to keep it open and toss the towel.

11. I like the ones without doors.

In addition to the aforementioned hygiene issue, I dislike reaching for a door (inbound) that might get shoved open abruptly and forcefully from the other side.
