(9,426 posts)The owl with the beautiful feathers, the bed full of kittens, the poor dog in the Carmen Miranda outfit looking so pathetic! The little goat, the cat going back to sleep, the majestic lion. Liked them all.

(869 posts)...that cattle with the long, heart shaped horns, where was that picture taken? The only place where I have seen cattle looking like that was in East Africa (Uganda, to be specific)

Veteran meteor observer Eliot Herman has contributed many wonderful photos to EarthSky! Heres one that didnt come out as hed planned, though. Its an owl (looks like a horned owl from the stripes, he commented) perched on his automatic, all-sky camera. He wrote:
The twin stars of Gemini are visible between the toes on the lower left.
Fortunately, Eliot said, it looks as if the owls claws didnt damage the lens, and it didnt tip the camera.

That's some depth of field ! Wonder what the focal ratio is on that -- probably a Super-Schmidt, so could be below f/0.5.

(11,005 posts)As usual, they are all great choices. I could stare at that owl picture all day. It is so peaceful looking. And I'm laughing my head off at the cat manicure. I saved quite a few and now I'm going to send them to friends.
Thank you for always making our Sunday extra special!
