and never joined in when the others were singing etc. and never "shook around' like the others...He just "sat there"

Actually, the real 5th Beatle was John's friend Stu Sutcliffe, who quit the band when he was accepted at an Art College.
(He played bass guitar, but Paul played bass better anyway)
His German girlfriend was the one who changed The Beatles' hairstyle.

Stu Sutcliffe was the fourth Beatle, since the Jaypage 3 (that's John, Paul, and George) persuaded him to take a windfall from selling a painting and buy a bass before they got any drummer. (John says Stu came up with the name "Beatles," although Stu apparently preferred "Beatals&quot Then they went through a series of drummers, any one of whom could be thought of as the Fifth Beatle (since, like, they only used one drummer at a time). Stu decided to stay in Hamburg with Astrid, then the silly fuck went and died. Shrinking the Beatles to a four-piece, with McCartney playing bass by default.

None of which, admittedly, has anything to do with birds.
