Any animal raised from birth can be "gentled," but... I'd prefer we protect their natural habitat.

BTW, this one is extraordinarily small for a full-grown cougar--maybe half the size is what they say in another video and I think that is right. Apparently it has/had some health issues. I've seen one in the wild. Believe me, you want to be seeing them from a safe distance! They are impressively large and FAST. I still remember when a Boulder jogger was fatally taken down by one.

I wish this one could have a good life in the wild, but apparently that was never possible. Still, I am apprehensive of the potential for others doing this with wildlife.

pumas generally go out their way to avoid humans, including babies. This helps explain their (relative) survival in common habitats.

mountain lions on foothills trails or, like bears coming into backyards or even on decks of homes in the Colorado foothills. My sighting was on a trail in Golden. Late leaving work, I was about 30 minutes outside the time I would normally be on the trail, so there were few people about. I know better and avoid these areas near dawn and dusk.

There are too any heartbreaking examples of species being edged out of existence.

Guy who worked at my family's bizz after his career in film was put on hold for a bit, had one raised from birth, Diablo, and he'd bring the puma to work occasionally after this first safe but scary encounter.

My unplanned meeting with this giant, fully grown one was one of those few times in life when time froze, just as I had, and one seriously questions their place in time, space and the reliability of their senses to determine it.

My later interactions with this beautiful animal shaped my vision of our place in nature and taught me respect for the creatures we share this planet with. That was a privilege I'll cherish to the end of my days.

I don't like to see wild animals as pets. Even ones that cannot prove lethal. Cruel and dangerous when a large animal is involved.
