I've known many people who have had hernia surgery and it sounds like it's pretty simple, mostly.

to help prevent 'MERSA'. When they said that I wondered if I could
just live with it..

And the soap that prevents MERSA is common before surgery. I did the same before my last knee replacement.

You will do fine! And do keep us updated if you feel like it.

I've had four joints replaced under general anesthesia and it's not a problem. You wake up after the surgery is over and you're in the recovery room. A nurse will be taking care of you until you wake up.

If they keep you overnight, then you go into your room, and if you get to go home right away, a family member will take you home!

Sorry for the long tutorial! Once a nurse, always a nurse!

So you should have it done. I had to shower with some sort of betadine solution before I had a surgery way back when. Don't worry yourself.

don't worry - and you will probably get another wipe down when you change into your hospital fashions (one thing that doesn't ever seem to change is the damn backless hospital gown LOL)

and then further scrubbing after you are under.

good deal, I am sure I will see you around DU before then, but good luck just in case! depending on what they do it should be pretty easy and then you just need to take it easy and let it heal so you don't pop loose again.

Early recovery not fun*, but you get past it.

(*YMMV, though. My most recent surgery was in 1969. They might be better at it nowadays...lol.)

It’ll be nice having the hernia gone but don’t strain. If you drop something just let it drop.
