7. I lurked for a long time before joining

I finally created my account just a week before you did. That year (2004) was rough, and Election Day was one of the worse days of that year for me. Not only was W re-elected, but I also had a miscarriage that same day.

DU became a welcome distraction, especially the DUzy Awards and the “Top 10 Conservative Idiots” column.

I still lurk more than post, but I’m glad to be among friends.
