How's this for a mind blowing comparison of property values, over time, in Los Angeles

Remember the Dietrichson house in the film 'Double Indemnity'? In the film, that was made in 1944 and set in 1938, it's mentioned that the house cost around $30,000. Probably a pretty substantial price, for the time. IMDB 'trivia' on the film has the address for the house. I looked it up on several realty sites, and it's now valued at around $2,000,000!

I was thinking the same thing about computers, the other day. My first desk top computer was, probably, around $1,300. Now my $120 smart phone has more memory and far more programs and capabilities.
