A lot of groomers trim dogs' whiskers... And shouldn't. Their whiskers around their nose and eyes are really important. They cause a reflex that makes them blink or close their eyes when stuff gets too close to their face. If you have a dog try it... Touch their whiskers and they will blink immediately.
