Any Hulu users out there for streaming live TV?

I just moved and decided to put a TV in my bedroom. Currently, I have Spectrum cable for TV. The idiots who pre wired the apartment ran cable to the living room on one side of the wall, but did not bother to put an outlet on the other side of the wall in the master bedroom. Instead, they put it in a corner where it's impossible to run it around the rest of the room. We've already pulled the outlet cover, punched through the shadow box, and discovered a metal plate behind it so pulling cable through to the bedroom from the living room wall is going to be a very difficult, if not impossible, task. Idiots.

There is, however, an internet outlet on the wall where I want to put the TV. Ta da! So, there is an option to switch to AT&T u-verse (which I had for a year previously at this building until they wanted to almost double the price of my TV package and that's when I switched to Spectrum) and expect they'll try to screw me again in another year, OR, give up on cable and AT&T for TV and go to Hulu.

I've looked at their live TV package and it includes all the channels I want--if I add in HBO and Showtime.

I can get up to 1000 Mbps from AT&T internet for $60/mo or up to 300 Mbps for $40 on their current deals. I am not a gamer.

Does anybody use Hulu for streaming live TV and are you satisfied with speeds up to 300 Mbps or is it better to go for the 1000 Mbps?

I notice Hulu is raising their live TV price by $10/mo in December.

The best thing about streaming is you can cancel at anytime. If you don't like it cancel and switch to another.
Most give you a free week to try out as well.

And I have CenturyLink fiber/gig speed service for internet. I'm perfectly happy with the service, there's a nice selection of channels and I love having my local live channels available instead of having to switch between antenna tv and streaming SlingTV. I run it across 3 tvs and use it on my iPad when I travel and I've only experienced a few hiccups over the past two years.

You shouldn't have to add on HBO or Showtime unless you want to - I did not have to and don't see it as a 'must add' on their current packages. I do have both premium channels but I get them through Amazon and I think it's a better price than adding on to Hulu.

Depending on where you live, you might check out SlingTV and see if their live option is in your area. It's an offshoot of Dish and they're trying to compete with Hulu Live TV in a lot of place.

Good luck & Happy Thanksgiving!

It's WiFi so no wires to worry about. It works on my TV, phone and laptop in any room in the house. It plays on two devices simultaneously, it might do more but I just haven't tried more. The live TV has most of the shows I was watching on cable.

I don't like their nav interface after being accustomed to Dish for years. It's clunky and not very user friendly. I started with the cheapest plan which has a lot of intrusive commercials with no option to skip past them unless you upgrade to a higher prices plan, which still forces you to watch some commercials on certain channels. I will probably pay their premium just do to get rid of the ads.

The streaming works fine. I'm in a bad fringe area so I expect a certain amount of loss of service and buffering, and HULU skips out sometimes. I'm not totally satisfied due to the ads and the navigation, and I'm thinking of trying a free trial with a different service like Sling or YouTube.

I like it, but don't like the upcoming $10/month price bump. That's a $15/month price increase just in the past year, and is making me consider alternatives (other than Direct TV Now, which I cancelled when I switched to Hulu).

In any case, it provides 4 local stations in addition to MSNBC, CNN, TCM, Smithsonian, and other channels I watch, so it's ok service.
