(497 posts)or rather, right side up. Once your brain sees any of them as right side up, they all flip.

(14,015 posts)now they're all right side up all the time.

(63,221 posts)I'll see upside down, then right side up and then they'll flip back again, etc. I can't seem to hold it in one position.

(14,015 posts)I'm getting that flipping effect, too. The small round ones at the left are always right side up, though.
I also can't stop wondering if they're recyclable.

(10,667 posts)On that first glance they were indeed all upside down. When I looked up they were all right side up. Now I can't flip it back to upside down. Pretty trippy...

(9,760 posts)right side up one? (Or, upside down one if you started seeing them as right side up first?) Some people seem to be assuming there is a particular one. But it's just which one you happen to see as different.
I find I can purposely change most of them. Only the one compartment ones, though. I haven't spent a lot of time trying, but so far can't easily, on demand, change the multi-compartment ones.

(3,528 posts)I was having the same problem some have mentioned; once I saw the plates as right side up I couldnt figure out how to make them look upside down again. Until...
I realized that, for me, all I had to do was read the top line of text (All these plates are upside down...), and then, glancing down at the picture, they would all be upside down once more. Wow. Is my brain REALLY that malleable? Explains a lot about Fox News addicts and their aversion to objective reality! Spend enough time having people tell you the plates are upside down and soon enough thats all you can see, I guess...

(65,013 posts)That's really interesting.
Like you said, I saw the one bowl, and boom, they all looked normal.
Fun!

(5,812 posts)I can do three things with this picture:
1. See all as upside down;
2. See all as right side up; and
3. See some as upside down and some as right side up?
I did the third one after seeing 1. and then 2., and trying to get back to 1.
Blew me away.

(6,584 posts)We KNOW they're all concave.
But some folks see them as 'outies' instead of 'innies'.
