It's one of the few comedies that made me laugh out loud the first time I watched it.

The short-lived TV series Police Squad! (in color!) starring Leslie Nielsen was also exceptionally funny, although you had to pay close attention to catch all the jokes, which may be why it was short-lived.

The humor in that series was similar to Airplane!, another very funny film.

Never laughed so hard or as much in a movie as I did for Gods Must Be Crazy. I've never watched it again, though, and now I'm afraid if I do I'll realize it wasn't that funny or something. Does it hold up?

I used to watch that once a week in college.

For those who have never seen it - three serial movie actors (Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Martin Short) are fired from the studio they work for (this happens in early Hollywood in the 1910s). A village in Mexico thinks their movies are real life and send for them to come save them from a gang of banditos terrorizing them, but the actors think it's an acting job.

The line that kills me is when the Amigos are in the house of the family whose daughter sent for them. They're having dinner, and the family is talking about how proud they are to have them there, all the while Chevy Chase's character is having trouble with the tortillas and other food.

First time Wile E. Coyote tries to catch Mr. Road Runner...not the last

I think I saw this one in a movie theater when I was 8 or 9..part of a 25 cartoon show, for 25 cents.

Poor Wile...he never gets it right..even though he tries in many ways..and yes, this his first film. At least he doesn't give up in this film. He never does...Yes, he is funny, and no, language and talking is not important in Wile's films. Sound effects are the key. Also, that look on Wile's face as he falls off the cliff chasing Mr. Road Runner is fantastic. Poor Wile....well.........Wile's loss is our gain....

Sorry, if people do not include this, I laughed so hard at poor Wile, so many times, that I wanted to include him..

Has been my go-to movie to escape the current political madness.

Their rendition of "Rawhide" is hysterical.

The Jerk (Steve Martin)
I know there are more, but those are the only ones that leap to mind right now.

IMHO (In My Horrifying Opinion) The "Mirror Scene" and "Going to War" production number are two of the best comedy scenes in history.

Alan Arkin played his role perfectly.

For that matter, he was also good in The Russians are Coming² and the In-Laws.

But I would also like to add 'Death at a Funeral.' The British version. I watch it every New Year's Eve and laugh myself silly.

Blazing Saddles, The Court Jester and Galaxy Quest are three of my very favorites.

Let’s not forget Mystery Men, with Greg Kinnear as superhero Captain Amazing and Geoffrey Rush as supervillain Casanova von Frankenstein, and the wannabe superhero lineup of William H. Macy as the Shoveler, Ben Stiller as Mr. Furious, Hank Azaria as the Blue Rajah, Jeanne Garofalo as the Bowler,... great stuff. Came out around the same time (ish) as Galaxy Quest, another underrated, terrifically funny movie with a superb cast (Tim Russell, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub,...)
