My love affair with FM radio was already in full swing when I was tall enough to work the knobs on the console stereo (remember those huge things?) in our dining room. I remember "Summer Breeze" putting chills down my spine when I was 3 in 1972 to this day.

I hate seeing these people go. Bob Welch did good stuff.

To me, the band was truly a band of equals at that point...

Later they would go pop - and it would be good pop

But the Bob Welch era gave us Penguin, Bare Trees, Heroes are Hard to Find and Mystery to Me.

Bob Welch group, maybe pre Paris Cal Jam 2. He was the second band to play that day. He got all 200,000 peoples attention when he brings out a 18 y. o. Stevie Nix. This was '74 or '75. a year or so before Fleetwood Mac was staring Spinning Stevie and Lindsay Buckingham.

Army and Bob Welch. Loved his stuff. Hate to see him gone. I've had him bookmarked on my SiriusXM radio for years.

I talked to him a few times on his website, which had a discussion board. His era of FM is my favorite.
