The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI seldom go to the movies, but I saw one that was really, really well done and fun last night.
The Movie was "Knives Out."
It's a fun updated version of an old fashioned whodunnit with some barely hidden Trump jokes in it (including a "self-made" business woman who was self made with a small loan of a million dollars) and a good bit of understated social commentary.
My sons are home for the holidays, and the four of us, my two sons and my wife, went to a late show. We all loved it.
I just thought I'd mention it.

(377 posts)I have family in town and this would be a good movie to do a venture out, after such a long break. Thank you for the heads up.

(9,656 posts)She is 30ish. I havent seen it yet, but we all went to The Rise of Starwalker last night. It was fun, a bit corny, but it is Star Wars, after all. Lots of action and poignancy, strong democratic references to the Resistance, and one for all and all for one sort of stuff. Kids in the audience seemed to like it.
