I came home to find that my dog had eaten an entire bag of treats.

I was annoyed at first, but then I realized he'd been watching the news.

2. Well, I don't drink so he doesn't really have access to liquor unless he makes it himself.

I do not remember an alcoholic St. Bernard dog.

My dog is lucky I'm a vegetarian or I might eat a bag of his meat-based treats.

5. Be thankful

A friend’s dog (small mutt) had to be hospitalized twice because of chocolate. The first time he jumped on the kitchen table and ate an entire pan of brownies. Christmas Eve he found and ate 2 dark chocolate bars; Merry Christmas at the emergency vet. My granddog ate half a bag of M & Ms once but because she’s big (70 lb lab) she was fine.

6. Yeah, I picked up the bag and read it and realized - its just food.

Dogs can be pigs. Mine is 11 so he hardly ever does stuff like this. And when he was in the chewing period he mostly ripped stuff up but didn't digest it.

My moms dog ate a bowl of halloween candy that was mostly Reese's peanut butter cups, and she was fine. Not the best chocolate in those, I presume. Dogs do love peanut butter.

7. To be fair it's kinda your fault if the dog was able to get at the treats. This has happened to me

many times including with cats.
One time at my friends house my dog ate 40 chocolate bars ( her kid was selling them for school) - I had to make her puke..chocolate kills.....what a horror show that night was!

Another time she ate a whole bottle of Rimadyl. I looked everywhere in the house to see if she puked it up...nothing. Off to the vet...bills stacking up. Get home and I see behind the door this mound of puked up Rimadyl....talk about being annoyed.

8. I had a cat who stole bread.

I couldn't leave bread out on the counter because he'd tear open the plastic wrapper and chew big hunks out of the loaf.
