And although I'm not vegan now, I still eat a primarily plant-based diet and was vegan for various extended periods of my life. It doesn't need to be expensive if you like beans. Just make sure you supplement with B12.

If you're interested in learning to cook vegan, let me know and I can steer you to a few good recipe sites. The best advice I can give is to not try to imitate meat; enjoy unprocessed, unabashedly vegan food.

If you live near a Trader Joe's you can pick up moderately priced items. I tend to be pescatarian as long as I can get wild-caught fish since getting enough protein tends to be a problem.

your meals on your own would be vastly cheaper.

Every time I've looked at the price of the regular (meat included) meal services I'm totally shocked by the cost. Easily double or triple what I can do on my own.

I rather suspect that would be the same of vegan.

Be sure to take vitamin B12 supplements. That is REALLY important ! https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/dec/18/doctors-warn-vegans-to-take-risks-of-vitamin-b12-deficiency-seriously
Don't be as concerned with protein. I have never met a vegan with a protein deficiency. It's the B12 that can get you years down the road with neurologic issues. B12 Supplements are a simple fix for helping the animals and the environment.

You might want to also post the question about meal delivery in the veg group here https://www.democraticunderground.com/?co

Good luck!
