Ehlers-danlos syndrome is a group of connective tissue disorders that are characterised by fragile, stretchy and loose skin, caused by a genetic defect in the production of collagen. In cats affected with Ehlers-danlos syndrome, this defect results in the collagen fibres having an abnormal structure.
