Dog Waits Every Day To Get A Hug From His Favorite Mailman

This is Moose — an adorable dog who simply adores his family.

But there’s someone else he loves.



A few weeks back, a new mailman was assigned the route that includes Moose's house. And apparently, from his view out the window, the dog sensed a friendly vibe from the mailman as made his rounds.

Soon, Moose’s instincts were proven right.

One day, as the mailman’s truck approached, Moose asked to be let outside. And here’s video of what happened next:

Moose wanted to give the mailman a hug; the feeling, clearly, was mutual.

“It was adorable,” Meghan Gruszynski, Moose’s owner, told The Dodo. “I loved how much he loved our boy and loved how much Moose loved saying hi to him.”

With that, a sweet new tradition was born. Now, each day the mailman arrives, Moose is there to greet him.

Being greeted by a wagging tail is enough to improve anyone’s day. But for this postal worker, these visits with Moose must be especially poignant.

“I’ve come to find out our mailman’s dog recently passed away,” Gruszynski said. “He loves how much love Moose gives him every time he is out on his route.”



The mailman, whose job it is to make deliveries, now receives something special each day in return. And in a way, seeing this sweet tradition playing out feels like a "care package" of sorts for Gruszynski and her family.

"Hopefully it continues for many, many years!" she said. "He’s our mailman 'til he retires, so it should be fun watching their love."
