I'm glad I don't live in Utica, NY today. Looks miserable. Please be safe if you're in the area. (Original Post) catbyte Feb 2020 OP

We used to get pounded with snow every winter and temps would get so low our pipes would freeze. What you see here in this video was nothing compared to what it was like back in the 70's. Of course I wouldn't want to deal with that now, but back then, we just thought 3-5 feet of snow was a typical winter storm. There were times we couldn't see out the windows of the first floor of our house.

Anyway, hope everyone in the area stays safe and warm!

that we used to have. I remember one blizzard back in 1967 that was so bad our school was closed for two weeks and they had to bring in snow removal equipment from Canada to clear the road by my house. We were halfway up a hill and the road was closed by a 40' drift that caused the snowplow to get stuck. It was insane. Even we kids were suffering from cabin fever. My birthday is in late June and there was still snow on north-facing creek banks. There's been nothing even close to that in at least 15 years.

I rescheduled my appointment when I saw the forecast. We have the same weather here too. Two hours or so east of Utica.
