(12,153 posts)keeps the same format. One of the reasons it was always my favorite crime show is that it didn't have actor dramatizations. I hate those.

(34,133 posts)I've seen the same actress be a witness, a mother, and other characters on the show. The cute hippy woman who worked for years to prove her dentist of molesting her was played by and actress who also played a cop a couple of times. I've also seen the same actor play cops in various juridictions
They are very good character actors, with excellent make up so it is not obvious. Most are only on two or three times and some are crew members who apparently get called on to act to fill out the show. For the most part the people on are "playing" themselves as evidenced by the number who are him or her self in the credits on IMBD.com (see the link below).
On the other hand, Trey Gowdy was on several times since apparently the area where he was district attorney had a lot of crime and a good forensic team.

My favorite part of the show is the narrator, Peter Thomas, but he passed in 2016 at the age of 91. I hope their new narrator is as good.

(3,165 posts)The List Murders was chosen #1.....That was a memorable one....Religious kook killed his wife and 3 kids, his mother in 1971 and wasn't apprehended until 1989 after the story was portrayed on AMW....He was convicted and died in prison....

(15,270 posts)captured what he would look like after he'd aged over that time - right down to the glass frames he was wearing. It was pretty amazing work.

(12,153 posts)Well, then, if the show keeps its high standards with the dramatizations, I'll be okay with that.
Thanks again!

(34,133 posts)I find Peter Thomas' voice very relaxing despite the subject matter, LOL. And I have always been a forensic science fan - have watched all the CSI shows and am right up to the current episode of Silent Witness, the British CSI type show (they are on season 23 right now).

(12,594 posts)new one, but the new one will not have the same narrator. He passed away several years ago.
Hope it sticks to the 30 minute format. The hour long ones just repeat the same stuff over and over.

(15,270 posts)Glad it's coming back with new episodes. I wish City Confidential would return, too. It was interesting to learn the history of the community where the crime happened.
