(56,695 posts)makes it easier for people to see the thank yous than having to stalk giftees' posts to see if they ever said thanks.
second, THANK YOU to whoever gave me hearts. it feels so good that people want to do that for me and I sort of hope/imagine it is partly for MFM too.
third, if someone is inclined to give me any more, please think about finding somebody that needs a boost more than me. from how it feels to me to get a heart, I am sure you could easily bring even more good feelings to more people. spread the love!

(11,639 posts)I want to think you for the delightful hearts that you have given me. It means so much that you thought about me.
I had every intention on renewing my gold star for Valentine's and instead, I was over zealous with donations to 3 of our Presidential Candidates and to Amy McGrath's campaign to help her defeat Moscow Mitch.

Please find it in your hearts to forgive me for not being able to support DU at this moment. I am fighting for Democratic candidates and our democracy.
Sending My Love to DU ♥

(11,005 posts)This is the first year I have really participated in the DU heart tradition.
I have had so much fun giving out hearts. I ran out of them, and I am buying more in a few minutes.
( Who knew it could be addicting?) Spreading joy feels good!
And it truly does feel like a hug when I receive a heart.
I am pretty much alone in this world. DU is my family. This is where I can come to find out anything I need to know, share a little of my own knowledge when it is appropriate, laugh when I really need to, and most of all, feel like I am part of a very special community.
To everyone who gave me hearts, I thank you from the bottom of my very grateful heart. You have no idea of how much it has touched my soul.

(1,328 posts)This morning just after I got up I looked at So and there was a ❤️ oh the joy. I said thank you. Continued getting ready for work only to glance at Du you again and surprise another ❤️ . I said thank you and I posted I thought it would be a nice day. And it was! My grandson and I got out the door early, traffic was light on the way to the day Re and to work
My coworker who has been gone on vacation for a little over two weeks was back so it was much less hectic. Another co-worker/ friend who retired last year we met and had lunch together chat about politics and life. She said she loves being retired everyday is a Saturday.
I didn't have to stay late because I got to.work early so my little longer than usual lunch didn't matter.
Traffic was lite on the way home again. I am sure the double hearts set the tone for a good day.
They are such little things but can mean so much.
So thank you for my hearts again and to all that give hearts to others. You can just see by this thread alone how much you put smiles on people's faces.

(252,119 posts)I'm a bit overwhelmed, but grateful, since I've tried to bring a little humor here during these trying times. But I have a embarrassment of hearts, my generous friends - so please do something for me to pay it forward - instead of giving another heart to me, find someone here who could use a heart - because they're new, they don't post very much, someone whose post you like, supports a candidate you like or just someone who has been overlooked - you could make their day - and mine!
sheshe2
(96,592 posts)Overwhelmed.
I buy hearts to renew my star membership each year. I give the few I can buy to those that have none. Everyone should have hearts.
Rhiannon12866
(252,119 posts)And my star is up for renewal in May, but I still buy too many hearts because there are so many DUers I like, not to mention those who could use one - or two.

(5,128 posts)to let us all know who the cool kids are.
Anyone here reminded of Jr.High or High School or even elementary when you were not one of the popular kids? It's still the same.
So, you don't post much, you aren't well known or much loved? It's ok.
We've been here at DU in one form or other since 2001. It is difficult to see this playing out, year after year. Unknown members saying thank you for just 1 or 2 hearts. It breaks my heart . I believe DU is better than this.
And yes we do have faves here, and yes many are not here anymore. I am sorry, but I truly believe this hurts more than it ever gives and I've watched it play out year after year.
So to all you DU'ers that lurk, that don't post much, that can't afford to "buy" hearts to give.....
You are loved with or without hearts. PERIOD.
Much love to you all!!
Been at DU since BartCop referred us and Will Pitt too. September of 2001. Anyone remember RB Hamm?
