IIRC that was the theme of a really bad TV show starring Toody of Car 54 (Joe E. Ross) as a caveman. 1961 maybe?

Wikipedia says the show was "It's About Time" from 1966. Two astronauts go back in time to caveman days.

I remember hearing the song, but never saw the show. It must have been pretty awful not to have been rerun in my youth.
