Poor kitty.

Geriatric kitty is 17 today. 8 lives and still kicking. She's had a stroke, lost vision in one eye, irritable bowels, lost hair, arthritis, cataracts (seriously ). She even has senior moments. Old age, lots of weight loss. Still has all her teeth. Stinks up the litter box like a 300# lion.

Wife says we have a lot in common.

Love your sweet little soul all you can. Our fur babies are amazing gifts. You will never regret a single stroke on their fur. May you both find comfort in each other’s company during the time you have.

I lost 2 of my cats that were both 17 not long ago. My life is better because of them. I hadn’t planned to get more cats, but some other desperate souls saw the opening in the family, and I couldn’t turn them away.

Most cats do have a way of finding us, don't they.

Sorry about the loss of your kitties. 😔🐾

and my sister had one that lived until 21. Giver your girl a hug from a cat lover at DU. May she have many more birthdays.

For some reason he's eating better, he's got kidney issues so has the wasted muscle back but is now eating enough food that his stomach isn't concave now like it was 6 months ago He's getting better with dealing with our rescue cat & now walks around when she's near, but isn't being aggressive to her, so this is major progress. Another sign he's dealing better - he's not pulling out his fur so badly anymore. He's a neurotic big guy, who's lost all the animals he grew up with and was really unhappy for awhile. He doesn't have great teeth, has lost most or had to have them pulled, but other than that and his kidney issues, seems to be doing great. He can still jump and run and moves easily. His mother died in Oct. from severe dementia but so far he doesn't seem to be developing that. Old cats can be a pain and huge expense, but we love this old guy and are happy that he's healthier & stabilized now from the loss of his mom.

I only leave to go to med appointments, so I hope she makes at least 17.

Congratulations on taking good care of her. Many more good years for all of you.

Apparently she gets canned and dry food. Vet says dry food cleans her teeth and gums to keep them healthy. She's always crunching.
